3D Artist

Role:

  • Primary function of the 3D Artist is to create and refine 3D art assets.

Responsibilities:

  • Use 3D Studio Max, to create high quality 3D art assets that fulfill the requirements of the project’s Functional, Art, and Technical Specifications.
  • Follow the schedule and pipeline established by the Art Director.
  • Take direction in style and technique.
  • Understand the requirements and constraints of game design, engine, and platform.
  • Proactively seek feedback from the Art Director in style and mood.

Skills:

  • Model, texture map, and light 3D characters, environments, and props.
  • Strong low poly character modeling skills are a must.
  • Ability to use 3D Studio Max for 3D art production.
  • Background in one or more of the following specialties: characters, creatures, and environments.
  • Willing and able to work closely with Game Designers and Programmers.
  • Ability to take direction

Requirements:

  • Experience in 3D modeling and lighting using 3D Studio Max, as demonstrated by a strong portfolio.

Pluses include:

  • Knowledge of Photoshop
  • Knowledge of QuArK
  • Experience with the Torque engine
  • Traditional Art Skills
  • Animation
